‘Shifting the Balance’ from custody to community

Social Work Scotland’s Justice Social Work Conference 2024

Tuesday 4 June 2024. Radisson Blu hotel, Glasgow city centre

Join us for a one day conference designed for Justice Social Workers and partners to take collective time to reflect on the Justice system and use creative inputs to reinvigorate our thinking around shifting the balance to community solutions from the current challenges within the national prison service.

We’re planning an interactive and focused event with discussions around the big things that are affecting the work that we do, such as the rising prison population, increasing workloads in both community and prison based social work, dealing with trauma and having a focus on preventative work.

You should attend if you want to hear thought-provoking input from guest speakers, share practice and to look for solutions and to network within the sector. Plus the all-important time and space away from ‘every day’ business to connect with your profession and be part of keeping Justice social work on the map during a turbulent time of change.

There are 2 different packages to choose from below. 

Membership: Please note the Social Work Scotland membership rate relates to INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP STATUS. This is NOT available to corporate members. If you are unsure what membership status you have, please email admin@socialworkscotland.org. If you book by mistake and are not an individual member your booking will be automatically cancelled. We would encourage you to check this in advance of booking to avoid cancellation.

Booking Information 

'Early Bird' rates on conference packages will close on 15th April.

Normal rates on conference packages will close on 20th May.
